Sir Richard Feachem, former director for Health, Nutrition and Population at the World Bank and Dean of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, was also the founding Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and Under Secretary General of the United Nations. He now directs the Global Health Group at UCSF, with a focus on eliminating malaria, and strengthening health systems through Public-Private Investment Partnerships (PPIP), and Social Franchising.
